Casa da Cultura

Helping children and young people develop new ways of expression and exercising their citizens’' rights, improving their relationships with their families and communities is the main purpose of the Playing to Learn (Brincando de Aprender) project. It focuses on supplementary education through teaching five circus languages, while also strengthening family links. The outreach circus methodology forms part of the political and educational purpose of the Casa da Cultura, implemented through this Project, which benefits children and young people in the Praça da Bandeira community in São João de Meriti. The positive outcomes, with the structuring of a new educational project prompted the Casa de Cultura to obtain further financing for the Project in April 2007.
