Implemented jointly with the educational staff of two Municipal Schools, this project consists of effectively implementing a partnership between the school and the surrounding community that blends classroom education with community wisdom, resulting in a programme that provides children and young people with good quality well-rounded educations. This knowledge-blending methodology developed by the Casa da Artes was acknowledged by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) in 2007. Its actions are structured through the research and development of a knowledge integration methodology (classroom education and community wisdom) through organising workshops (School Dialogues, Memory, Adult Literacy) and setting up a Family Dispute Mediation Group. The participants in this project included 160 primary school publics (eighty in each school), their families and twenty teachers.
