This Meeting was attended by representatives of five of the six Investigation Hub Hospitals, administrators from all three tiers of government (federal, state and municipal) in Brazil’s National Health System (SUS), and two representatives from civil society organisations that are also jointly in charge of the United Through the Cure Policy.
The data obtained through the computerised policy monitoring system were discussed by the group through Informative Bulletin Nº 3 - a periodical published every four months that is available for public consultation through the website: www.inca.gov.br/unidospelacura
Goals still to be attained in 2009 were established for the three main lines of work of this policy (Education, Flow and Information).
In December, a balance sheet will be presented at the III Annual Committee Meeting, reporting back the process of implementing the United Through the Cure Policy in 2009 and outlining the directives for consolidating and extending the scope of this public policy fostering early diagnoses of childhood cancers in Rio de Janeiro State.
