October 09th, 2009 Dissemination of the United Through the Cure Policy reaches out to more Practitioners in the Government Health Network

On October 19, the first round of meetings to publicise the United Through the Cure policy began in Investigation Hub Hospitals.

The August visits of these Hospitals to monitor the implementation of this policy underscored the need to disseminate information about the existence of this policy to other sectors.

Publicising the efforts required to organise this line of care in paediatric oncology, ranging from primary care through to the specialised treatment centre, and encompassing complex medical support for confirming suspected cases is very important as a benchmark for organising paediatric care as a whole.

Moreover, this policy strengthens and enhances the assumptions of universal access, equality and all-round care in Brazil’s National Health System (SUS).

This agenda was drawn up by the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Health Bureau and the Instituto Desiderata with the support of the Danone Baby Nutrition Initiative, which will offer snacks at the end of the meetings.  On that occasion, Informative Bulletin Nº 3 will be distributed, with the updated outcomes of this policy.
