Partnerships for Education Programme

The Partnerships for Education (Parcerias para Educação) Programme supports five partnerships between outreach organisations and government schools, working closely with these schools to blend classroom knowledge with community wisdom, thus ensuring a more rounded learning process for their students. The Institute believes that the engagement of these organisations with government schools, resulting in supplementary networked actions, is vital for fine-tuning methods and extending the impacts of the outcomes of these outreach projects in communities. These projects involve six organisations and fourteen government schools:

Supported Projects 2008-2009

The strategy of providing financial support for these projects is extended through actions that strengthen the partner institutions: exchanges of experiences, setting up partnerships and alliances, and systematising work methodologies through the Develop (Desenvolver) Programme e Learn (Aprender) Programme. At the same time, discussions are under way with government education administrators, designed to extend their knowledge of the system, fine-tune the programme and contribute to public education policies in Rio de Janeiro.

The Partnerships for Education programme is the outcome of the learning processes built up through the Be Capable (Ser Capaz) Programme, supporting educational projects supplementing classroom activities through art and culture from 2003 through to 2007.
