The III Partners Meeting of the Partnerships for Education Programme was a very special occasion! Held on April 14, it was attended by head teachers, education coordinators and teachers from seven government schools and the staffs of five outreach organisations, who together discussed key issues for the success of the partnerships linking them.
The materials generated during this Meeting will be used for fine-tuning the survey commissioned by the Instituto Desiderata, which is exploring and qualifying the alliances linking outreach organisations and municipal schools in Rio de Janeiro.
Through this survey, which will be launched during the second half of the year, the Instituto Desiderata expects to provide a reply to a key issue for government education policies: are public-private partnerships under way in Rio de Janeiro effectively helping upgrade the quality of education in municipal schools? To what extent, and in what ways?
