In the Education Area, extending knowledge is just as important as its circulation among the many different players. This is ensured through the systematisation and publication of social work methodologies, establishing areas for discussion, hosting seminars and preparing studies.

The first survey of partnerships linking outreach organisations and government schools in Rio de Janeiro, this initiative was designed to answer the following question: Do public + private partnerships under way in Rio de Janeiro contribute to upgrading the quality of public education in this municipality? To what extent and how?”
This book presents the outcomes of a Programme encompassing partnership projects between six outreach organisations and fourteen municipal schools in Rio de Janeiro (2008 - 2009).
This book portrays the history of this Programme, with detailed descriptions of the efforts of the Education Area, the projects that it supported, the institutional strengthening tools developed, networking among its partners and the production and dissemination of knowledge through methodologies, in addition to organising seminars.
This study was commissioned from the Labour and Society Studies Institute (IETS) in order to underpin the efforts of the Instituto Desiderata and organisations presenting data, breaking down municipalities into districts with selected social indicators, particularly those related to the education of children and young people.

This booklet systematises the experiences, statements and methodology of this Project, focused on capacity-building for teachers and pupils in the government school network, showing them how to produce computer-edited videos shot with digital cameras and displayed in schools and on internet websites, in order to underpin educational processes and encourage collective construction while building up closer links between teens and teachers.
Espaço Compartilharte – Teresópolis.
A detailed history of the efforts of the Espaço Compartilharte outreach organisation working with underprivileged families in the Vila Canoas community in Teresópolis near Rio de Janeiro, the book entitled Da Arte de Compartilhar, uma metodologia de trabalho social com famílias presents its social work methodology based on the art of sharing. This publication has already prompted many lectures all over Brazil, with more than 500 copies sold in nine States to professionals in this field, in addition to tertiary and public sector organisations. Currently out of print, this book was selected and acquired by the National Library under the Mais Cultura culture programme run by the Ministry of Culture.
