Decoration projects for the humanization of healthcare:

Considering the time patients spend in the hospital for cancer treatment, Instituto Desiderata invests in transforming their environment, making it a warm, playful and pleasant space for patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals.

We want this space to influence changes in healthcare practices and promotion in the public hospitals of Rio de Janeiro, while minimizing the negative impact of those treatments for everyone involved.

The expansion of the decoration projects in the hospitals, members of the " Unidos Pela Cura" network, drew its inspiration from the pioneering experience in humanization of Chemotherapy at the Oncology Institute/GRAACC in São Paulo, and the National Humanization Policy of the Ministry of Health.

Gringo Cardia, a scenographer and designer is in charge of those projects and works as a volunteer with Desiderata creating these designs.
